It can be used for providing a protective atmosphere during heat treatment at very high temperatures for manufacturing stainless steel, plasma welding and cutting. It is also used in variety of chemical industries and oil refineries.

Automotive
Hydrogen will have future application as fuel in auto industry.
Refining
Hydrogen is used in large quantities, for the hydrogenation of vegetable and animal oils to produce margarine and other fats, hydro-treatment of petroleum and hydrosulphuration of fuels in order to eliminate sulphur.
Welding & Metal Fabrication
Used to enhance plasma welding and cutting operations, hydrogen gas is mixed with argon for welding stainless steel.
