Hard facing electrodes are used to increase the service life of metal parts by restoring them to their original shape and size. A deposition of wear resistant surfaces on metal parts that have been worn down due to metal-to-metal friction, severe impact, severe abrasion or abrasion plus impact results in increased life of metal parts. Hard facing electrodes can also be can also be used for overlay to add a protective layer to carbon steel surface.
