Flux Cored Wire

HardGoods, flux Cored Wire

Flux-cored wire can be self-shielded, and gas shielded. Some of them are designed for all positional welding and/or for flat and horizontal positions. Gas shielded wires produce a slag that helps to protect liquid weld metal during cooling, this needs to be removed once it cools down. These wires are optimized to obtain quality performance not possible with solid wire.

These wires are available for various base materials, including mild steel, low-alloy steel, stainless steel, and nickel alloys. For steel welding, they are available in tensile strengths of 70 KSI for mild steel, as well as 80 to 120 KSI and higher for welding high-strength, low-alloy steel
